CPD to restrict traffic flow and parking during Roots N Blues
The Columbia Police Department will restrict traffic flow and parking in certain areas during the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival, according to a news release.
The release said traffic flow and parking will be restricted in the area of Broadway, Old Highway 63 and East Walnut. East Walnut Street from old Highway 63 to the dead end will be closed for through traffic.
According to the release, people without neighborhood passes will be subject to a 50 dollar fine for parking in the East Walnut Neighborhood.
Old Highway 63 will be northbound only from Jack Estes to Hinkson, according to the release. Walnut Street will be westbound only from Old highway 63 to Williams Street.
The release said any traffic going south on Old Highway 63 will be required to turn left on Hinkson.
According to the release, the traffic changes will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and last until the event ends on Sunday.
Go COMO will not offer special services for the festival, according to the release. The transit system will operate on its regular schedule.
