Power restored to Columbia traffic lights

Power has been restored to two downtown Columbia intersections after a crash made them dark Tuesday.

Columbia Public Works said intermittent outages were possible on Tenth Street at Broadway and at Walnut Street, the public works department said. The outages began Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into an electric service meter, the department said.

The department reported at about 6 p.m. that power had been restored.

It is possible that power to the signals could remain out overnight, the department said.
