Rain chances this afternoon try to spoil an otherwise beautiful day

THURSDAY: The day starts off dry, with some of us waking up to some sunshine. It will be cooler, with temperatures only making it to the middle 70s . Isolated showers with a few rumbles of thunder are not out of the question in the late afternoon as this system finally exits the area for good.

TONIGHT: Any of these isolated showers will move out after sunset, with a return to mostly clear skies. Temperatures overnight will cool off into the upper 50s to near 60 with light winds out of the west.

EXTENDED: Friday looks beautiful with temperatures climbing back into the low 80s and plenty of sunshine. As we head into the weekend, the winds aloft will transition to a more northwesterly direction, with a disturbance moving through that flow. This disturbance will kick off showers along a backdoor front that will drop through the area later in the day Saturday, but nothing severe is expected. Those winds aloft return out of the southwest, setting up another active week, with rain chances moving back in as early as Monday afternoon. >
