State Legislature approves possible bonds for bridge repairs

One of Gov. Mike Parson’s top priorities from the legislative session was approved Friday.

Lawmakers approved the measure that could authorize $300 million in bonds to repair Missouri bridges.

The bonds will only be authorized if the state gets a federal grant that would be used to replace the Interstate 70 bridge at Rocheport.

No dedicated road funds would be used to repay the bonds.
