Flash-flooding causes road closures in Mid-Missouri

Mid-Missouri authorities reported multiple road closures around the area Tuesday night.

The Moberly Police Department asked drivers to stay off the roads. Police said multiple roads around the city are impassable from flash flooding conditions.

Additionally, MoDOT reports two highways in Howard County are closed from rising waters. Officials say Highway H in both directions is closed North of the Route O intersection. Highway Z is closed in both directions as well West of the Highway 87 intersection.

HOWARD COUNTY ALERT: Route H is closed in both directions north of the Route O intersection due to water over the roadway.

Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown! It isn’t worth the risk to drive through standing water. #flooding #safetyfirst pic.twitter.com/rUumWDKu1N

Be sure to check the @MoDOT traveler map and check for flooded roads before you leave as heavy rains continue throughout the week. #flooding #SafetyFirst pic.twitter.com/eaEuKgchsr
