More rain and thunderstorms on the way this week, severe risk Tuesday

ABC 17 StormTrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for Tuesday evening

THIS AFTERNOON: It’s a cloudy and gloomy day across all of Mid-Missouri today. We can expect some spotty rain showers to become more numerous into the later evening hours. Keep the umbrella with you. You’ll need it all week. Highs top out in the low 70s.

TONIGHT: Another round of storms arrives for this evening and will continue overnight. Heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder and small hail are possible into the morning hours. Overnight lows drop into the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: Headed into Tuesday morning, thunderstorms are possible, especially in our NWestern counties. These will last across that area through the afternoon hours. Later in the afternoon we quickly dry out, but our eyes turn to the south as storms begin to lift out of southern Missouri. This is all going to be out ahead of a cold front that will bring the risk for high winds, large hail and the threat for tornadoes.

Be sure to check back on-air or online for the latest on Tuesday’s severe threat.
