Man at large, accused of stealing vehicle

One person was at large early Monday morning after leading Boone County deputies on a chase on I-70 Drive Southwest.

Deputies were alerted to the vehicle initially because of an unregistered license plate. When the deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver did not stop and led the deputy on a chase.

The driver eventually ran his vehicle off the road and got out of the car and ran into the woods nearby. Deputies brought a K9 unit to try to search for the man, but they were unable to find him.

An investigation showed the vehicle the man was driving was reported stolen out of Jasper, Indiana.
