Moberly man accused of stabbing another man in a fight
A Moberly man faces assault and armed criminal action charges after Moberly police said he stabbed a man early Sunday morning.
Police responded to reports of a man yelling for help in the 1500 block of E. Rollins Street. The alleged victim had been involved in a car crash while trying to drive himself to the hospital to get treated for a “penetration wound to his chest area.”
While he was being treated by emergency personnel on scene, he claimed he was stabbed during a fight on south Williams Street with Robert “Bobby” Johnson.
Officers went to the address and found signs of a fight. They also talked with witnesses who confirmed that Johnson was involved.
He agreed to turn himself in and was taken into custody without incident.
As of 7:45 p.m. he was still in custody because he could not post the $25,000 bond.
The man who was stabbed is currently in stable but critical condition at University Hospital.
