One man is in police custody after leading police on a short chase in south Columbia early Thursday morning.
Columbia police originally received a physical disturbance call around 1 a.m. on the south side of town. When they got to the area of Canterbury Drive and Belle Meade Drive, a man fled the area and eventually crashed into a tree.
According to police, the suspect then got out of the vehicle and ran. Police on scene told ABC 17 News the foot pursuit didn’t last long, and the suspect was eventually taken into custody.
Police say they are still investigating the original physical disturbance call. It’s unclear what charges the suspect could possibly be facing.
