Two in custody after early morning chase

Two people were taken into custody early Tuesday morning after leading Columbia police on a chase.

The Columbia Police Department tried to pull over a vehicle at about 2:20 a.m. in the area of Old 63 and Walnut Street, but the vehicle sped away. Officers were able find the car, and the two people in the vehicle exited the car and tried to run away.

Officers were able to catch up to the two people and take them in to custody.

ABC 17 News is working to confirm the individuals involved in the incident.
