Mid-Missouri Business Week: The Loop works to boost small-scale manufacturing

The Loop is working to boost small-scale manufacturing in Columbia.

The executive director of The Loop, Carrie Gartner, said Columbia was one of six communities to receive a federal grant to encourage small-scale manufacturers to come to the Business Loop.

” Local makers, local producers, local retail. It’s what makes Columbia unique, ” Gartner said.

The Loop’s CoMo Makes Project held a town hall that hosted 160 people interested in bringing their small business to the Business Loop. Products ranged from barbecue sauce to sewing and soapmakers .
