Clouds clearing over the next 24 hours, Tracking a warming trend and rain by midweek

THIS AFTERNOON: It’s a much cooler afternoon across our region than what we saw yesterday. Thanks to cloud cover and a steady north breeze, we’ll feel more like late fall through the rest of the afternoon. Clouds are slowly breaking up in our northern counties, but some residual cloud cover in Iowa/Illinois will enter into the DMA giving a partly to mostly cloudy look through the evening hours.

TONIGHT: Winds back off tonight, but remain out of the northeast, continuing the cooling overnight; and it will be a cold night ahead for many of us, with much of Mid-Missouri dipping into the low 30s .

EXTENDED: With high pressure in charge for the next couple of days, weather will be tranquil once again, giving temperatures a chance to recover into the middle 50s Tuesday and low 60s by Wednesday. Things become active heading into the close of the week. We’ll be tracking a cold front into Thursday, bringing the initial chance of rain, but we could see a couple rounds of rain through Friday and Saturday.
