A strong pressure gradient remains in place over Mid-Missouri leaving us breezy through the overnight hours. That’s about the only thing keeping us from going below zero overnight as it will the planetary boundary layer well mixed.

This area of high pressure will settle to our south over the next 3 days leaving us quiet, and gradually warming up through Wednesday

TIMING: The worst of the cold arrives after Midnight tonight as we begin to drop through the single digits. By 7am, temperatures are expected to bottom out near zero, with winds up to 20mph. This will create wind chills up to 15 degrees below zero. Bundle up and cover any exposed skin and you will be just fine.

IMPACTS: Some impacts will be felt on the roadways as sunshine has aided in melting this afternoon. This will lead to any untreated roadways locking up into a sheet of ice by morning. Sidewalks, parking lots and elevated surfaces will be slick as well. Take caution headed to work or the bus stop in the morning.

The Weather Alert Day will last through the morning hours, ending at 10am MONDAY.
