Columbia Public Works had a 30-person crew report at 11 p.m. Saturday to focus on treating and plowing priority routes and another crew reported at 7 a.m. Sunday. Boone County crews planned to work overnight and Sunday morning to focus on treating and plowing priority roads.

About 2 to 5 inches of snow was expected to fall before the storm leaves the area Sunday afternoon. Bitter cold is expected to sweep in with the snow, with wind chills early Monday going as low as minus-15 to minus-20 degrees. The worst snow was expected to fall in the southern part of the area.

The snowfall had caused dozens of churches to cancel their Sunday services.
