Dog reunited with owner after water rescue at Moberly park

A dog is back with its owner after firefighters rescued it from a pond at a Moberly park Thursday.

According to the Moberly Fire Department, Nico, fell into the water after the dog went after some geese at Lion’s Beuth Park. Nico was unable to get back onto the melting ice or swim to the other side of the pond.

Firefighters used a boat to reach Nico and successfully pulled the dog out of the water. Emergency crews said the dog was cold and tired but otherwise unhurt after the ordeal.
