One person taken to hospital in Columbia crash

At least one person was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Columbia on Monday.

The crash happened just after 12 p.m. on Providence Road and Worley Street. The right southbound lane of Providence Road was blocked while first responders worked the scene.

The vehicles sustained heavy damage, and airbags were deployed, according to Columbia fire officials.

The crash cleared at approximately 1 p.m.
