Columbia firefighters battle flames on Fyfer Place

UPDATE: Firefighters told ABC 17 News crews on scene that no one was hurt.

They were able to put out the fire in about 15 minutes and seven trucks responded.

The cause is still under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Columbia Fire Department is currently working to put out a fire in east central Columbia.

Flames broke out just before 3 p.m. Sunday, and Boone County Joint Communications sent out a notification that Broadway Street at William Street was closed due to the structure fire.

ABC 17 News has a crew on their way to the scene, and we will have updates as soon as we get them.
