Jefferson City man in custody for stealing and property damage
A Jefferson City man is in custody after allegedly stealing copper tubing from an apartment complex.
In a release from the Jefferson City Police, 34-year-old Jimmie Hicks, of Jefferson City was arrested Jan. 3, 2019. From the same report, Jefferson City Police allege Hicks stole copper tubing from 19 air conditioning units at the Deville Southwest apartments, also in Jefferson City.
Police say they found Hicks early in the morning of Jan. 3. Reportedly, police officers responded to 903 Southwest Boulevard in Jefferson City around 3:33 a.m. When they arrived, officers reported finding Hicks’ medication bottle between two air conditioning he allegedly stole copped tubing from.
Officers report that Hicks had cuts on his hands and wrists, as well as a black substance under his finger nails. After talking with officers, Hicks reportedly said the cuts were from various suicide attempts.
In the same release, officers say Hicks has several previous stealing convictions in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012.
