40 Bird scooters missing, MUPD investigating

University of Missouri employees noticed 40 Bird scooters went missing after the scooters were being impounded by MU landscaping employees.

The employees noticed the scooters were missing when they got back from break last week, said Sara Diedrich with the University of Missouri Police Department. MUPD believes all 40 scooters were stolen at once.

MUPD is working with Bird to locate the scooters and is investigating the incident as a theft.

The 40 scooters were originally being impounded because they were parked illegally.

ABC 17 News has reached out to Bird for comment but has not heard back.
