Mid week warming expected leading to a nice weekend
WEDNESDAY: The day will start with overcast skies which will break up to partly sunny skies by afternoon. It will still be cold with high temperatures reaching the lower 30s as winds shift to the southwest up to 10 mph.
TONIGHT: Temperatures drop back into the 20s by morning under mostly clear skies. Westerly winds up to 6 mph create for wind chills in low teens through morning. Wear layers out the door early in the morning!
EXTENDED: A warming trend will slowly take hold for the end of the week, with temperatures topping out in the low 40s Thursday. Another southern storm system will pass well to our south Thursday night into Friday morning but most of the precipitation looks like it will stay in southern Missouri. After morning lows in the upper 20s, temperatures warm Friday into the mid 40s with mostly sunny skies north and partly cloudy south. The weekend looks nice for early January with plenty of sunshine Saturday and highs in the lower 50s. We’ll stay mild Sunday but clouds will increase, leading to a chance of light rain late Sunday night into Monday.
