Mizzou women’s basketball cruises past Illinois on the road

The Mizzou women’s basketball team had no issues on the road against Illinois as the Tigers won, 67-45.

With the win, Mizzou improves to 10-3 on the season.

Mizzou’s defense posted another strong performance as it held the Illini to just 14.2 percent shooting from three-point range.

Amber Smith led the way with 16 points and five rebounds. Meanwhile, Akira Levy had a career-high 14 points as well as three assists and two rebounds. Sophie Cunningham added nine points while Lauren Aldridge chipped in 11 points for the Tigers.

Next up, Mizzou faces Arkansas State at home Dec. 30 after more than one week off. That game marks the final nonconference matchup for Mizzou before beginning SEC action.
