Former LU student pleads guilty to drugs charges

A former Lincoln University student pleaded guilty to her role in a meth conspiracy in federal court on Tuesday.

Bria Royale Lanier-Richie, 24, of St. Louis, took part in a 2017 drug conspiracy that would have been used to distribute methamphetamine that was sent through the mail by a co-conspirator in California, the U.S. Western District attorney said in a press release.

Shadeed Seifullah Muhammad, 42, of Compton, California, mailed a package, which contained approximately one pound, nine ounces of methamphetamine, the release said. Lanier-Richie admitted another co-defendant, Javier Rashad Rosser, 32, of Jefferson City, asked her to pick up the package and deliver it to him.

Lanier-Richie was a student at LU at the time and was having the drugs delivered to an address there.

“On April 4, 2017, U.S. Postal Inspection agents set up a controlled delivery and surveillance at the Lincoln University mailroom,” the release said. “When the student arrived to pick up the package from the mailroom, he was arrested. He told investigators that Lanier-Richie had asked him to pick up the package and deliver it to her.”

Muhammad and Rosser previously pleaded guilty to their involvement in the crime.
