Mid-Missouri Business Week: USDA grants $8 million to five rural Missouri communities

The USDA recently announced an investment of more than $8 million for five rural communities in Missouri. The grants and loans will go toward drinking water systems and wastewater disposal systems.

ABC 17’s Deborah Kendrick sat down with the business program director at the USDA Rural Development in Missouri, Matt Moore, to talk about the award.

Moore said the projects will involve substantial construction and development work.

“In terms of direct job creation, we’re looking at jobs in the engineering and construction industries,” Moore said. He noted that these contracts could be in the millions of dollars.
