Troopers find 95 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

Prosecutors charged a man Tuesday after troopers allegedly found 95 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

According to the probable cause statement, troopers pulled over a vehicle driven by Homero Romero on Interstate 70 in Cooper County.

Documents said the trooper observed the vehicle drive on the shoulder several times and off the side of the road. The trooper initiated the traffic stop at mile marker 101. According to the trooper, five duffel bags were visible in the vehicle.

Authorities said Romero acted nervous when the trooper inquired about the duffel bags.

The trooper searched the duffel bags and reportedly found approximately 95 pounds of suspected marijuana.
