Cold weather persists into the weekend

TONIGHT: Under partly cloudy skies temperatures will drop to a chilly 21 degrees by morning. Winds out of the northeast from 5-9 mph will drop wind chills into the mid teens through early Saturday.

SATURDAY: We’ll stay cold all day with high temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be light, coming in from the east under 6 mph.

EXTENDED: The weekend will stay dry and cold in Mid-Missouri but a storm system will bring a chance of snow to far southern Missouri and into northern Arkansas. Those with travel plans heading south should monitor weather conditions. Past Sunday, we’ll start warming up with high temperatures near 40 by Monday and in the low to mid 40s Tuesday and Wednesday. Unsettled weather returns for the second half of next week with rain possible Wednesday and again Thursday night into Friday.
