Double crash in Jefferson City causes backup

A double crash on Highway 50 at Highway 179 in Jefferson City caused traffic delays Tuesday morning.

Hwy 50 West at Hwy 179 traffic is backed up due to 2 accidents.

According to Jefferson City Police, officers were sill working the scene at 8 a.m. The crashes were caused by icy road condition, police said.

Officials urge drivers to avoid the area if possible.
