One injured in Callaway County fire

A rural Callaway County resident suffered moderate injuries during a fire Sunday.

Firefighters responded to a call on Route D near Williamsburg on Sunday morning. North Callaway County Fire Protection District Chief Lana Karhoff said the fire was at a house that also has a gun shop on the property and that black powder stored on site ignited during the fire.

Fire damage was contained to a small area but smoke damage was more widespread. One person was taken to a hospital with moderate burn injuries, Karhoff said.
