Two women suspected of stealing TV off victim’s porch in Fulton

Fulton police have arrested two suspected porch pirates after they are accused of stealing a newly delivered TV from a victim’s front porch on November 27.

According to the police department, the victim said they had ordered a TV from Walmart and that it was shipped to their apartment. The victim wasn’t home so the TV was left in the breezeway near the victim’s front door.

Police said the package was stolen between the time it was delivered and when the victim returned home.

On Dec. 1, police said they got information that the stolen TV was in another apartment and was about to be moved to another location.

According to the department, Sarena Wilkerson, 24, and Karisten Royal, 21, were in the process of transporting the TV to another location and were suspected of stealing it as well.

They were arrested for stealing under $750 and released.

The TV was returned to the victim.

Fulton police released a list of idea that may help stop package thefts:

-Make sure to get a tracking number or delivery date estimate
-Request a signature on electronics/expensive items
-Consider shipping the item to the store for pickup or to a Shipping retailer’s business
– Retrieve your package or have a friend collect it after a delivery notification is received
-Install a Security Camera for your porch
-Some companies offer lockable boxes for your front porch where they can leave a package.
-Speak with your shipping provider for more tips on package safety
