One hurt in north Columbia shooting

One person suffered a gunshot wound in a north Columbia shooting early Friday, but the injury was not life threatening.

The Columbia Police Department said officers were sent at about 2 a.m. to a shots-heard call near Bodie Drive and Edenton Boulevard. Officers found shell casings at the scene and one person had been taken to a hospital via private vehicle with a gunshot wound, according to a news release.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
