Man pleads guilty to role in Pettis County shooting death

One of two suspects in a Pettis County homicide has admitted to his role in the shooting death.

Branden Hendren pleaded guilty Friday in Clay County after a change of venue.

Court records show a judge sentenced Hendren to 42 years in prison for second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

The victim, Leon Hinckley, was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside of a home at the Sunset Village trailer park in August 2017. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The other defendant in the case, Ronald Cage, pleaded guilty in September. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 21.
