A federal grand jury has indicted a Springfield, Missouri man on charges of robbing three banks and an auto parts store.

Roger Ballinger, 33, was indicted Wednesday in Jefferson City on four counts: one count of interference with commerce by threats or violence for an Oct. 21, 2017 robbery at O’Reilly Auto Parts on Cooper Drive in Columbia and three counts of bank robbery.

Ballinger is accused of robbing Merchants and Farmers Bank in Columbia on June 18 of nearly $7,900, Great Southern Bank in Columbia of about $13,600 on Sept. 7 and Commerce Bank of about $6,800 on Nov. 5.

Ballinger was arrested after the Nov. 5 robbery and booked into the Boone County Jail before being transferred to federal custody. An arraignment in the case is set for Dec. 4.
