Cloudy skies bring the chance of drizzle by this evening

THURSDAY: It’ll be a chilly and cloudy start to the day, with temperatures hovering near freezing for Thursday morning. Despite the clouds, the warming trend will continue into the afternoon hours as highs top out in the mid to upper 40s. The only exception will be the areas with the deepest snow pack, which will likely only see temperatures hold steady in the upper 30s and lower 40s. We remain mostly dry Thursday outside of some drizzle to light rain after 5 PM mainly south of I-70.

TONIGHT: Overnight lows drop into the mid 30s overnight as heavy cloud coverage and southerly flow continues. Light showers are possible through the night with patchy fog. Winds shift out of the northeast up to 6 mph by morning.

EXTENDED: The warming trend continues as we head through the rest of the week, with the end of November to be seasonal and rainy. We touch close to 50 degrees by Friday, with widespread rain arriving by the evening hours. This comes as another low pressure system tracks in from the southwest which will bring breezy winds and heavy rainfall into Saturday morning. Isolated thunderstorms can’t be ruled out, but for the most part moderate to heavy rain showers will be our only threat. As the system tracks off to the northeast, we’ll see colder air filter in by Sunday morning. This could lead to some spot snow showers north of Hwy 36, but most areas will remain dry. As we head through the first full week of December, temperatures will return to winter standards with a chance for a wintry mix arriving as early as Monday.
