Halloween will be cloudy, cool and damp for Mid-Missouri

WEDNESDAY: It’s a cool Halloween across Mid-Missouri, with temperatures only expected to rise into the upper 50s under mostly cloudy skies. While a few spot showers are possible this afternoon near I-44, most locations will remain on the dry side. However, as we head into the evening rain will begin to lift into Mid-Missouri from the south increasing our chances of seeing rain into the night. Some trick-or-treaters will run into some rain south of I-70, with a better chance as you near I-44. It won’t be a washout, but you’ll want to be prepared for rain after 7 PM for a large portion of southern Mid-Missouri. Thanks to the cloudy skies we’ll see, we can expect temperatures to hold steady in the upper 40s and lower 50s for Halloween night.

TONIGHT: Showers will continue through Thursday morning in our southeastern counties as everyone sees clouds stick around. Temperatures will drop into the mid 40s with winds out of the northeast up to 11 mph.

EXTENDED: The overnight showers could lift as far north as I-70 during the day Thursday but the better chance of rain will remain closer to I-44. Areas north will see some sunshine tomorrow but skies will remain mostly cloudy south with high temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. Another cold front will drop south Friday, bringing another chance of rain and keeping us in the low 50s Friday afternoon. It looks like the best chance for rain will be near Hwy 65 as we head through the day Friday, but all of us will see cooler temperatures behind the cold front, as overnight lows will drop into the mid 30s. The active weather pattern sticks around as we head into the weekend with rain expected north of I-70 Saturday. Sunday brings a better chance for rain as another cold front tracks though, as we start off the week on a cloudy and damp note. The unsettled pattern continues through next Tuesday with rain chances continuing. Rainfall accumulations the next seven days could top out near two inches for parts of Mid-Missouri, which will effectively end our drought for all of us if we see that much rain.
