Former deputy charged with sodomy

A former Gasconade County sheriff’s deputy was charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree sexual abuse Friday.

According to a release sent from the Missouri attorney general’s office, Matthew A. Hutchings allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her home while he was on duty. Hutchings had met the woman previously online, the release said.

Hutchings resigned from his position and is no longer employed by the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently being held in the Osage County Jail.
