Light rain returns to Mid-Missouri for Thursday
TONIGHT: It will be a cloudy and cool night across Mid-Missouri. The overcast skies will limit temperatures from dropping to the chilly conditions we have seen, with overnight lows bottoming out in the low to mid 40s. Winds will remain out of the east up to 10 mph, so wind chills tomorrow morning look to fall into the upper 30s.
THURSDAY: The cloudy and cool conditions stick around through Thursday, with a chance for sprinkles to light drizzle for the first part of the day. This comes as moisture will gradually track through the region, but with very dry air in place it will take time for rain to make it to the ground. Current timings have sprinkles/drizzle arriving around noon, with the light rain expected for the evening commute. Any rain will amount to less than .15″ of rain. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid 50s, with winds remaining out of the east up to 9 mph.
EXTENDED: The light rain sticks around through Friday morning along with the cloudy skies. Any rain we see Friday will be limited to areas along and east of Hwy 63. Skies will take some time to clear, with peaks of sunshine arriving late in the day. The overall weather pattern suggests that as we close out October, we will remain on the cool side thanks to a series of upper level disturbances that will constantly track through the region. While Saturday is expected to be dry, Sunday looks to bring a quick shot of rain as a disturbance tracks to our north. Any showers we see will once again be on the light side, with amounts less than .25″.Temperatures look to stay in the middle to upper 50s for highs all the way through the weekend.
