Trolley collision in Hermann kills one and sends several to the hospital
UPDATE: According to the Highway Patrol crash report, a total of 9 people were hurt in the crash, and 1 person died.
The driver of the car, Paula Heidemann, 55, was killed. The other two occupants in the car were Autumn Kibbons, 13, and Grace Sullivan, 8. They were taken to two different hospitals in Columbia in serious condition. According to MU Health officials, they are now in fair condition.
Heidemann and Kibbons were not wearing seatbelts.
The occupants of the trolley got injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The driver, Jeffrey Mueller, 55, got minor injuries.
ORIGINAL: One person is dead and several others were taken to hospital after a car and trolley crashed Saturday afternoon on MO 100 south of Hermann.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Scott White told ABC 17 News the crash happened between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
White said the driver of the car died and “two young people” were transported to the hospital from the car. He said several people were transported to various hospitals from the trolley.
MSHP’s Major Investigation Unit responded to the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
