Widespread frost/freeze overnight for Mid-Missouri

TONIGHT: For many in Mid-Missouri, the first frost/freeze of the season will occur overnight. Temperatures will bottom out in the lower 30s under mostly clear skies. Although a freeze warning is in effect through 9 AM Tuesday, a thin layer of stratus clouds building in could just bring frost to many regions. Regardless, make sure you cover any plants or bring them in overnight. Winds will be out of the southwest fairly light under 8 mph.

TUESDAY: After a chilly and frosty start to the morning, temperatures will rebound into the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies. We’ll see winds out of the southwest up to 15 mph, making it feel quite breeze at times.

EXTENDED: Abundant sunshine is in the forecast Tuesday through Thursday with slowly climbing temperatures each day. Through the mornings we could still see some areas of frost thanks to lows in the 30s, but we touch the 60s by Thursday. A lot of dry time dominates this week, but with increasing moisture Friday, we could see small rain chances for areas south of HWY 50. Into the weekend it looks dry and mild with highs close to 60. Great weather for Mizzou’s Homecoming weekend! Keep up to date with the latest forecast on-air and online with ABC 17 News.
