No. 1 Alabama rolls past Mizzou to stay undefeated
Mizzou was the latest team in the seemingly unstoppable train for the (1) Alabama Crimson Tide toward another national title run. The Tigers lost 39-10.
With the loss, Mizzou falls to 3-3 overall and 0-3 in the SEC.
Drew Lock went 13-26 for 142 yards, one touchdown and three turnovers.One of the lone bright spots for the Tigers was Jalen Knox who had three catches for 61 yards and one touchdown.
The Tide out-gained Mizzou 564 yards to 212 on offense.
Mizzou forced Alabama to punt for the first time since Sep. 22.
Wide receivers Emanuel Hall and Nate Brown did not travel with the team. Both missed their second straight games due to injury.
The game started, and two plays later Alabama was in the end zone off an 81-yard strike by Tua Tagovailoa for the touchdown.
Two plays later, Alabama picked off Drew Lock and returned the interception deep into Mizzou territory, and the Tide turned it into points. Less than two minutes into the game, Alabama led 10-0.
With time winding down in the first quarter and the Tide leading 13-3, Lock fired a strike, 20 yards to the back of the end zone to Jalen Knox for the touchdown. At the end of the first quarter, Alabama led just 13-10. Mizzou held Alabama to its smallest lead of the year after the first quarter.
Just five minutes later, Alabama opened the flood gates with two touchdowns after Lock fumbled deep in Mizzou territory. Alabama never looked back.
Next up for Mizzou, the Tigers return home for homecoming to face Memphis Oct. 20.
