Large law enforcement presence off Clark Lane Saturday afternoon

ABC 17 News has reached out to Columbia police about a large law enforcement presence in northeast Columbia Saturday around 1:30 p.m.

It happened off Clark Lane near Hanover Boulevard. Authorities were reportedly in the area for about an hour and a half.

ABC 17 crews on scene saw two officers with rifles, and witnesses reported seeing the K-9 unit searching the area as well as a helicopter.

There were Highway Patrol troopers assisting, but a spokesperson told ABC 17 News that they “had not received a situation report about anything.”

A Columbia Police Department spokesperson didn’t have immediate information about the presence Saturday afternoon, but ABC 17 will continue to check in with the department.

This is a developing story and will be updated when we have more information.
