A couple chances for showers this weekend
SATURDAY: Even with mostly cloudy skies, we’ll still manage to warm up more than we did yesterday. With sunshine trying to break through in the afternoon, we’ll see temperatures in the middle 50s. We stay dry through the day, but the remnants of Tropical Depression Sergio will track to the northeast throughout the afternoon, grazing some of our southern-most counties this evening after 6 PM.
TONIGHT: Clouds will be on the increase once again as another frontal system makes its way toward Mid-Missouri. Increased cloud cover and winds out of the southeast will keep us mild overnight, with temperatures only dipping to the middle 40s.
EXTENDED: We warm up in the morning hours to the low to middle 50s Sunday before the cold front makes it into the area. This front will bring us the return of showers to Mid-Missouri along with another shot of cooler air behind it. We’ll see winds out of the north throughout the day on Monday, keeping us cool with temperatures struggling to get back to 50. High pressure will set up Monday night heading into Tuesday, keeping us clear which would allow us to cool off into the low 30s for an overnight low, so we’ll have to watch for widespread frost if not outright freeze. We’ll gradually warm up by the end of this week with a quiet weather pattern as temperatures return to the middle 60s by Friday.
