Missouri Supreme Court receives suspicious substance

The Jefferson City Fire Department was dispatched to the Missouri Supreme Court Wednesday morning in response to reports of a suspicious substance.

According to fire officials, those in the building practiced a brief shelter in place while the situation was dealt with. It was determined the substance, which was mailed to the supreme court building, was in fact laundry detergent.

Officials are investigating to find out who sent the substance and what the motive could have been.
