Man dead, child injured in Camden County UTV crash

A Camden County man is dead and a 4-year-old child is seriously injured after a utility task vehicle crashed south of Montreal, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report said 61-year-old Terry Scott was riding in the UTV with a 4-year-old boy Wednesday afternoon on Longar Road just west of Route BB.

The UTV traveled off the right side of the road, hit a tree stump and rolled over.

Both Scott and the boy were thrown from the vehicle.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene and the child was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

Neither person was wearing a safety device, according to the Highway Patrol.
