Fulton police searching for suspect after shooting at McDonald’s

UPDATED 6:05 P.M. SEPT. 26: Fulton police ruled Scoggins out as a suspect in the shooting. Brian K. Healthcock was arrested Sept. 26 on suspicion of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and other charges.

ORIGINAL: Fulton police are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect in connection to a shooting at McDonald’s.

Police released a photo of the suspect, 22-year-old William Schoening-Scoggins of Fulton, on Saturday afternoon.

Police said they responded to a the McDonald’s at 303 S. Business 54 just after 2 a.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired. They said Scoggins got into a fight with another man, 23-year-old Brady Smith.

At one point, police said, the suspect pulled out a gun, hit Smith twice in the head and fired a round inside the business. He then fled the area.

Smith was treated at the scene. No one else was injured.

Police said to call your local law enforcement or CrimeStoppers if you have any information about the shooting.
