Coolest temperatures of the season to arrive by tonight
WEDNESDAY: The day will start out cool with temperatures in the 50s and clearing skies. Surface high pressure will build in, giving us a cool northerly breeze up to 12 mph which will keep our temperatures in the mid to upper 60s in the afternoon. High clouds will increase through the afternoon.
TONIGHT: As clear skies remain tonight temperatures plummet into the mid 40s, which will be the coolest night we have seen since April 30. Winds light through the night under clear skies.
EXTENDED: The overnight cool down will be brief, as we climb back into the mid to upper 70s as we close out this week with winds shifting to the south. Another cold front is forecast to move through the area Friday but it looks dry with this front into the evening. Heading into the weekend, this front will start to move back to the north as warm air lifts back into the region. This will give us a small chance of t-storms Saturday, north of I-70. Most areas will stay completely dry through the entire weekend. Temperatures will stay in the lower 70s Saturday but will climb into the mid to upper 70s Sunday to near 80 Monday with spot storm chances early next week.
