Storms overnight lead to cooler weather Wednesday

TONIGHT: A cold front will move in from the northwest and scattered showers and storms will move through during the evening hours heading to the southeast, moving out of the area by 4 AM. Skies will clear quickly by morning as temperatures drop into the low 50s with winds shifting to the northwest up to 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Surface high pressure will build in, giving us a cool northerly breeze up to 12 mph which will keep our temperatures in the mid to upper 60s in the afternoon. High clouds will increase through the afternoon.

EXTENDED: Wednesday night will be the coolest night since April 30, with lows dipping into the mid to upper 40s. The cool down will be brief, as we climb back into the mid to upper 70s as we close out this week as winds shift to the south. Another cold front is forecast to move through the area Friday but it looks dry with this front into the evening. Heading into the weekend, this front will start to move back to the north as warm air lifts back into the region. This will give us a chance of t-storms Saturday, mainly north of I-70. Temperatures will stay in the lower 70s Saturday but will climb into the mid to upper 70s Sunday to near 80 Monday with spot storm chances early next week.
