Man found burglarizing Capitol City High construction

The Jefferson City Police Department said it is looking for a person connected to a burglary that occurred at the construction site of the new Capitol City High School on Saturday.

According to police, while patrolling the construction site, an officer saw the subject burglarizing a trailer on the site. However, the subject fled on foot, and during the course of the chase, the person pointed a gun at the officer.

The officer was injured during the chase due to the active construction site and its hazards. He suffered a non-life threatening injury to his leg.

The alleged burglar is described as a white man with a slender build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the subject is asked to call Jefferson City police at 573-634-6400 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 573-659-8477.
