Man accused of taking photos of people in Columbia changing rooms

A Hannibal, Missouri man was arrested Monday on accusations that he attempted to photograph people in dressing and changing rooms at two Columbia businesses.

Nicholas D. St. Clair, 21, is accused of trying to photograph people in businesses in the 2700 and 2600 blocks of East Broadway, city of Columbia spokesman Steve Sapp said. St. Clair was arrested after a witness reported him trying to take photographs at a business in the 2700 block Monday, Sapp said. Investigators then determined he was involved in a similar incident in the 2600 block of Sept. 10 and police arrested St. Clair a second time.

St. Clair is suspected of two counts of felony invasion of privacy and was booked into the Boone County Jail on a $25,000 bond after the second arrest. He was no longer in custody late Tuesday. Information about his case was not available in online court records.

A store manager at Plato’s Closet confirmed with ABC 17 News that it was the store targeted on Sept. 10. The employee said a customer reported the incident to the store, and workers filed a police report.
