Scattered morning showers brings a cool weekend ahead

FRIDAY: Scattered showers and storms will linger through Mid-morning, with an additional .10″ of rain likely for areas south of I-70. Rain should come to an end for most of Mid-Missouri through 10 AM, with any remaining activity sticking around near I-44. It’ll finally feel like fall as temperatures top out in the mid to upper 70s. Sports Zone Football Friday will be dry and pleasant with temperatures falling into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds through the day will remain out of the north up to 14 mph.

TONIGHT: Much cooler air moves in behind the front as overnight lows fall into the 50s by Saturday morning. Winds will be out of the northeast from 5-8 mph under partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: The coolest day we’ve sen in about two weeks arrives Saturday afternoon, with highs struggling to climb into the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies. At this time, the front is expected to head farther south into southern Missouri Saturday, with slim rain chances still possible in the Ozarks while areas north of HWY 50 are more likely to stay dry. Sunday will be dry and cool with spot storm chances entering back into the forecast by Monday. A stronger cold front will move into mid-Missouri by the middle of next week, potentially bringing highs in the 60s with lows in the 40s, along with another shot of rain.
