UPDATE: Best Buy employee arrested for making bomb threat

UPDATE: Columbia police have arrested a suspect in connection with Saturday’s perceived bomb threat.

Semaj Robinson, 20, has been arrested for making a terrorist threat.

The store had been evacuated before police got on scene. They said an employee found a business card on the floor that had a handwritten threat that an individual was wearing an explosive device.

The bomb team and canine officers were brought to the scene but didn’t find anything.

Video surveillance showed an employee was the one who dropped the business card with the note.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia Police responded to Best Buy near Stadium and West Worley around 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Columbia Police said an employee found a business card on the ground inside Best Buy that said ‘I have a bomb.’

Best Buy called local authorities and then evacuated the building.

ABC 17 News talked to a shopper who was inside the store at the time. He said a manager came over the intercom and asked everyone to evacuate the store.

The bomb squad, K9’s and Columbia Police went through the store and did not find a “credible threat.”

Authorities said everyone cooperated with the investigation.

Best Buy employees were not allowed to disclose any information.
