Missing Morgan County woman found safe in Illinois
UPDATE 9/14 – 4:30 A.M.: Authorities canceled a SILVER advisory for Victoria J. Smith, 73, of Morgan County.
Smith was found safe in Pekin, Illinois, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
ORIGINAL: Morgan County authorities have issued an advisory for a missing Stover woman.
Authorities say Victoria J. Smith, 73, was last seen driving a silver 2012 Chevrolet Cruze with license plate DE8-Y4P on Interstate 44 westbound in Valley Park at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. She was originally on her way to Kansas City but someone gave her directions about how to get from I-44 to Highway 50 and she never returned home, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol advisory.
The alert says Smith is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, has black and gray hair and hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a blue blouse and blue shorts with “USA” printed on the side. She has Alzheimer’s and dementia, the patrol said.
Authorities ask that anyone who sees her or has information about her call 911 or the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 573-378-5481.
